Baptism preparation sessions are held to ready parents for the Catholic commitment they are making for their child. Parishioners should attend Baptismal sessions before the birth of the child, if at all possible.
Requests for Christian marriage require meeting with the priest for a description of the preparation process.
Communion for the Sick
Parishioners who are confined to their residences may have the Eucharist brought to them. Call the office for arrangements.
Sacrament of Anointing
Anointing of the sick is scheduled during the year. Arrangements may be made at any time.
For those who may be discerning God's call to the priesthood, diaconate, or religious life, the Diocesan Office of Vocations can be contacted at 608-821-3088 or 800-833-8452.
The Saint Clement Adult Education Program takes on many forms. It has been using the "Little Rock Scripture Study" to increase knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. Evenings of reflection, learning, and fellowship are held.
For those wishing to become Catholic, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is used. Those involved in this program reflect upon their lived experience, Sacred Scripture, Tradition, and Church teaching to deepen their understanding of discipleship within the Catholic Church.
The Shepherd's Watch is a voluntary ministry of prayer and penance for the return of family members, friends, and all people who have wandered away from the beliefs and practices of the Catholic Faith. Through prayer and penance, we ask the Holy Spirit to stir in their hearts a desire to return to the Catholic Church. We ask Him to show them the way back to the Faith.
We pray also that the Holy Spirit will be with us in our love and concern for those who have wandered and that He will help us deal with their absence in a positive way. We pray that we and others will find appropriate ways to invite them to come home to the Catholic Faith.
For participants in the Shepherd's Watch ministry, all Fridays are days of prayer and penance. Participants attend Mass (if possible), recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and do some form of personal penance.
On the First Friday of each month, participants attend Mass (if possible), recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet with others after Mass, spend additional time (30-60 minutes) in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, and do some form of personal penance.
People who would like to participate in this ministry but are unable to attend Mass on Fridays are encouraged to pray privately and do penance OR choose another day to attend Mass, pray, and do penance for the intentions of the Shepherd's Watch.
For additional information, please contact Carol Rogers at 822-3930 at St. Mary's Parish, Fennimore, or Bernadette Schaefer at 723-7475 at St. Clement Parish, Lancaster.
